Elected Officials

Rick Phillips, Reeve

This is my 13th year being a part of the Township of Tyendinaga Municipal Council. I was a councillor for 4 years and am now serving my third term as Reeve.

I have resided in the Township for over 60 years. I am married to my lovely wife Cheryl and have been for 45 years. I have two sons, Mike (married to Jen) and Tim (married to Lynn). I have 5 grandchildren, Sarah, Sam, Sophie, Ellie and Katie.
I am retired from CN Rail and have been a member of the Canadian Legion for over 40 years. I am also a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church located in Roslin.
I am a member of Hastings County Council and currently serve as Warden. I am a Director of Hospice Quinte (Building Committee), a Director of Belleville General Hospital Foundation and a Director of the Children's Foundation.
My hobbies include playing golf and volunteering for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Adam Hannafin, Deputy Reeve

My primary reason to run for council was to help the community.  I have enjoyed meeting many new people over the last 4 years and I am looking forward to the next 4 years as Deputy Reeve. I will do my best to represent the Township and the people who live within it.

I grew up in this area and my family originates from Tyendinaga. I love it here, so naturally I married someone local, Kristen Hannafin (nee Whalen). We have 4 beautiful children, all in school. I have worked in Belleville as a Software Designer for the last 16 years and for the last 2 as a business owner.

I am on the Rec Committee and the Emergency Response Group as well as other committees like Canada Day and Family Day.

Feel free to give me a call with negative and/or positive feedback or any ideas that you have, that would help improve our community.

Don McFarlane, Councillor

My wife Lori and I moved back to Tyendinaga Township 17 years ago to live and raise our family. We both grew up in Tyendinaga Township and wanted our kids to have the same experience growing up in a rural community with family and friends.

I ran for Council to help maintain the quality of life that is offered in Tyendinaga Township through all the activities that Municipal Government provides, and to carry out the important responsibilities that are entrusted to us.

Heather Lang, Councillor

I have lived, worked and raised my family (3 daughters) here and consider Tyendinaga home. I first came to Tyendinaga when I married my husband Fred Lang. I worked alongside Fred and his family on the farm for 20 years. I also run an independant financial advising company called Cedarlane Financial Consulting and have done that for the past 10 years.

In the past, I have participated in many community activities from youth soccer, adult beach volleyball, Canada Day and am an active member in the Hastings Federation of Agriculture, Shannonville Agricultural Society, Quinte Source Water Protection Committee and several Equestrian groups.
