The Concerned Citizens of Tyendinaga and Environs
After decades of opposition, concerned citizens are launching a campaign to close the Richmond Landfill. After a previous expansion attempt was rejected by the Minister of the Environment in 2006, there are indications that Waste Management Inc. will attempt another dump expansion despite ongoing environmental and human health concerns. The Concerned Citizens of Tyendinaga and Environs established this Web Site to raise awareness and educate citizens about the serious risks of offsite impact from this dump. There are vast resources of information, history, and technical reports, as well as ongoing fundraising events and press announcements. Please use this site as your home page to receive updated information on the progress of this fight. This community stopped Waste Management’s expansion proposal and we will not end this fight until this dump is “Closed Forever”!!
