Trash Bash
Saturday April 22, 2017
9am-2pm

Our annual community clean up day is Saturday April 22, 2017. In conjunction with The City of Quinte West, The City of Belleville and Prince Edward County, we are all working together to clean up the ditches, parks and community areas. The event will run from 9am until 2pm at the Muncipal Office. Residents are encouraged to pick up clean up kits at the Municipal office and pick up garbage in their area and dump it for free on April 22. There will be a BBQ  put on by the Foxboro Melrose Lions Club beginning at 11am. 
Quinte Waste Solutions will also be on site collecting Household Hazardous Waste.  Things like batteries, old paint, light bulbs and oil are accepted. 
We will also be collecting old electronics through the the Ontario Electronic Stewardship. Items accepted include TV's, DVD Players, VCR's, keyboards, mice, computers, laptops and cell phones. Items not accepted are microwaves and vaccum cleaners. 

Community Trees
Saturday April 22, 2017

The Township of Tyendinaga in conjunction with the Hastings Stewardship Council will be giving away free tree seedlings on Saturday April 22, 2017 at our Trash Bash Event. Residents are encouraged to come early to get their free tree seedlings and to bring a plastic bag or bucket to bring them home.

Golf Tournament - Saturday July 22, 2017 1:00pm Shotgun Start

In the spirit of community and community improvement, we are hoping to defray some of the costs associated with in additions to our Recreation Facility.  As part of our efforts, we are holding the 14th Annual Township of Tyendinaga Golf Tournament on Saturday July 22nd, 2017 at Briar Fox Golf and Country Club in Marysville, ON. Tournament style will be a 1:00pm shotgun start, golfers will receive; 18 holes of golf, power cart, steak dinner and a prize. Cost will be $80.00 per Golfer, or $40.00 for a member. Must register wil Raeanne before July 14th, 2017. Payment can be made at the Township Municipal Office. Via Cash, Cheque or Debit. Payment MUST be recieved before July 14th, 2017.

Everyone will get one free hotdog and drink. Facepainting will be available on site. Donations of a non-pershable food item will be apperciated.

When you arrive, you will be provided a list of all available product with prices and quantities to fill in while in your vehicle. From your order sheet, a volunteer will shop for you and load your vehicle as you drive through. You only have to get out of your vehicle to pay! - CASH only!

Pumpkin People Contest- October 16-31st, 2017

Theme: Movie Characters

Pumpkin People Display: Is open to all ages, individuals, families, clubs, groups & businesses. Each person, family or group may only enter one time. Participants must have all Pumpkin People Displays ready for viewing no later then October 27th, 2017. Pumpkin people display must be available for viewing from Saturday October 28th till Tuesday October 31st, 2017. Township of Tyendinaga reserves the right to refuse any Pumpkin people display deemed offensive or in poor taste.

  1. Participants must register with Raeanne at the Township of Tyendinaga by Friday October 27th, 2017. Participants must submit a registration form and picture by October 27th, 2017. Registration forms can be obtained online at www.tyendinagatownship.com, and submitted by email to recreation@tyendinagatownship.com or dropped off at the Township Office (859 Melrose Rd).

Judging: Pumpkin People displays will by judged by our 5 Council Members. Pumpkin People will be judged on Difficulty, Originality, Creativity and Entertaining. The combined score of the 5 judges will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners.

The General Public can vote for their favourite Pumpkin People Display as well. Voting for the “People Choice” category will be done online at

Remembrance Day
Saturday November 11, 2017


The Tyendinaga Township Annual Remembrance Day Service will be held Saturday November 11, 2017 at 10:30am at the Tyendinaga Township Municipal Office (859 Melrose Road).  Following the service, there will be a potluck lunch social hosted by the Lonsdale Women’s Institute at the Tyendinaga Recreation Hall (363 McFarlane Road). Please bring a food dish and your own dishes and cutlery. Coffee and Tea will be provided. We hope to see you there!

Following the lunch at the Recreation Hall, we will be having one additional wreath laying ceremonies to honour the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. 1:00pm—Ceremony at Bunker Hill Cemetery (1189 Hogs Back Road) Honouring Richard M. Marlin and Kenneth Somerville who were killed in action at Vimy Ridge in 1917.

2nd Annual ATV Christmas Parade
Friday December 1, 2017

Please Join us by putting in a Family or Group float in Our Second Annual ATV Christmas Parade. Stay for some Hot chocolate and Hot Dogs, an outside fire and Christmas Activities Following. Please dress for the weather, donations for a local food bank will be accepted.

When: Friday December 1st, 2017 Parade beginning at 6:30pm

Canada 150 Skating Day in Tyendinaga Township

December 10th, 2017- from 2-4pm at the Deseronto Community Centre (51 Mechanic St. Deseronto, ON K0K 1X0)

Join us on December 10th, 2017 for the coolest skating celebration around! Together, lets skate and celebrate #canada150 at the Deseronto Community Centre from 2-4pm. This will be free event to all!

Activities include:

Public skating from 2-3:30pm (Please bring a helmet)
