Garbage & Waste
The Township Waste Transfer Site is located at 6663 Old Highway 2.
Under the provisions of the Ontario Electronics Stewardship (OES), the Waste Transfer Site accepts televisions, radios, DVD players, VCRs, cell phones, speakers and telephones

Waste Motor Oil
Waste motor oil is accepted at the Hazardous Waste Depot at 75 Wallbridge Crescent, Belleville during regular hours. Motor oil is not accepted at mobile events. For more information, visit the Quinte Recycling website.
Residents can now dispose of waste motor oil, at no cost, by taking it to Shaw Auto Sales & Service, 416 Bridge Street East, Belleville, ON, K8N 1P8. If you have a large quantity of waste motor oil, please call (613-966-8001) first to ensure they are able to accommodate the quantity.

Household Batteries
Batteries are accepted at the HHW Events, the Main Belleville Depot and the following Belleville locations (for other locations please refer to www.quinterecycling.org ) :
- The Home Depot
- The Source by Circuit City.
Some battery terminals now must be taped in order to be recycled to reduce any risk of short-circuiting. Click here for the list of batteries that need to be taped.

Recycling
Tyendinaga Township contracts all recycling (& hazardous waste) activity through Quinte Waste Solutions (Centre & South Hastings Waste Services Board). This organization is recognized as the leader in waste reduction programs throughout Ontario. If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of the programs do not hesitate to call Quinte Waste Solutions.

Note: Car batteries, unbroken fluorescent tubes & bulbs, computers & audio-visual equipment are accepted at the Household Hazardous Waste Events and at the Main Belleville Depot.
