Media Release- Shannon Road

Township of Tyendinaga Media Release
For Immediate Release- August 27, 2020
Effective August 27, 2020 @ 4pm
Shannon Road: Access from Shannonville Road to Deseronto Road.
The Township of Tyendinaga is advising residents that travel can now be completed from Shannonville
Road through to Deseronto Road on Shannon Road. A portion of Shannon Road was closed in
November 2019 to allow for the revitalization of Boldrick’s Bridge. Construction is nearing completion
but has been deemed safe to open for travel (4pm August 27, 2020).
The Township would like to Thank the residents living and impacted by the closure of the road for their
patience and understanding while the roadway remained closed and a suitable replacement of the
bridge was completed.
This was an epic project for the Township of Tyendinaga, a special Thank you to John Farrell, Roads
Supervisor, and his team in the Roads Department for their diligent efforts to complete the construction
of the new roadway and crossing. The Township would also like to recognize their partners in this
endeavour: Jewell Engineering, Quinte Conservation, and the Department of Fisheries and Oceans for
their ongoing support throughout the project.
For any questions related to this project please contact:
John Farrell, Roads Supervisor or Brad Roach, CAO/Clerk-Treasurer at 613-396-1944.
