Outdoor Skating Rink

Lace up your skates, Tyendinaga!

Thanks to Tyendinaga staff,  residents have the option to get outdoors and get in some laps on the ice. The large community skating rink has been built on top of the horse ring at the Tyendinaga Recreation Complex. As long as there’s ice, the rink is open!

If the rink is busy, consider returning at another time and please be considerate of others waiting to get some ice time.

While Enjoying Community Rinks, Please Follow Safety Measures:

  • Rinks are open 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. daily
  • Limit to 10 skaters at a time
  • Limit use to 30 minutes during busy times
  • If the rink is crowded, please come back later
  • Wash hands and/or use hand sanitizer often
  • Masks or face coverings are strongly encouraged for skaters
  • If you have any COVID-19 symptoms or are not feeling well, stay isolated at home and get tested for COVID-19

Outdoor community ice rink rules:

  • Do not participate if you suspect you have COVID-19 or if you have any of the known symptoms.
  • Non-medical masks are now mandatory.
  • CSA approved ice helmets are highly recommended.
  • Maintain physical distance of 2 metres from other users.
  • Children under 10 must be supervised.
  • Participation is at the user’s own risk. No responsibility is accepted or undertaken for the well-being of either the user or their property.

Outdoor Ice Rinks Maintenance

The Tyendinaga Outdoor Rink is maintained (cleared and flooded) by staff during the morning prior to open at 10am as required through the week. Shovels are kept on-site for users to keep the surface clear of snow during the day because the Township does not have permanent staff at this location. Reminder that this surface is a natural ice surface and can become rough or uneven due to weather and precipitation.

If you have concerns about this rink, please email recreation@tyendinagatownship.com
